Description: This dataset is one of several associated datasets related to California Counties that are available as part of a single fileGDB. Further details about these paired datasets can be found in their respective metadata. Further details about the full process and update notes can be found in the GDB container metadata.This specific dataset represents the main simplified version of the _full dataset. It does not include coastal buffers. It includes the Channel Islands, but does not include the Farallon Islands or bay islands. It does not include the San Francisco Bay linework (ie the bay and bay islands are dissolved into the county polygons).As with all the layers, islands are included as separate records from the mainland geometry, to allow users to selectively filter them out if needed.
